It helps to maintain healthy venous function.

The red vine, or vitis, is a member of the vitaceae family. Its leaves contain flavonoids (predominantly quercetin glycosides), anthocyanosides (mostly C-3 O-glycosides of cyanidol, malvidol and peonidol) and other polyphenolic derivatives (monocaphaetilartaric acid, phenylpropanoic acids, flavanol glycosides, hydrolysable tannins and proanthocyanidols).

Traditionally, red vine has been used as a venotonic, vasoprotective and astringent. In in vitro and in vivo experiments, red vine extracts have shown vascular endothelial protective activity, increased capillary resistance, hyaluronidase inhibitory activity, anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic, antiviral, hypoglycaemic, as well as hepatoprotective and nephroprotective. Research studies have demonstrated the effects of red vine, including antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antidiabetic activities, skin protection, cardioprotective, hepatoprotective and neuroprotective properties.
